Music Music

Yeah! so glad to see it is back....Thanks Ellen for the info and the update. I had gone to the playlist help line and sent an email and since right after I sent the email, you said I was back up, I figured that they had the issue and finally fixed it. Thanks again....I love my music to me it makes the posts more fun. :-)

Coming this week I hope to get some Gymnastics and Swim Pics so be on the look out for them coming soon. Also in 7 more days Grandma comes to town so that will be even more fun adventures coming our/your way. Stay tuned. ;-)

Anyone Wondering!

If anyone has noticed when you visit the blog there is no longer music automatically playing, this is not my doing, at least not intentionally. If anyone can tell me where I might find the problem and can tell me how to fix the music to play automatically again I would definitely appreciate it. I looked high and low on the blog and with playlist and can not find anything that makes it auto or manual play. Not really sure how it got screwed up, unless one of the sites changed something to prohibit it from playing automatically. If there is no one who can figure this out I will have to call it quits on the music as I am at a loss. Just wanted to post and throw this out there in a last ditch effort to fix it. Thanks for understanding and for any help you can give. AJ

Rain Storms Brutal Damage

Bunny #1

Bunnies 3... My bunny pack

As you probably know if you have been following along, we had our Robin nest and 3 babies grow and leave me with an empty nest. Right behind the empty nest was the baby bunny who we tried to save from the cold and rainy weather and failed. Well the storms had stopped for a while, just long enough for God to send us a mommy bunny who nested right next to Mikayla’s house. It was Mikayla’s own animal garden. Once momma nested the storms returned in full force. I checked the nest daily….I only wish I took photos as we went along. Momma finally had her babies. In fact she had 6 at least that is what I found. I checked on them and held them daily, making sure mommy was doing her part and nature was not ruining our second chance of watching more babies grow. I hoped that momma would continue to stay out of the dog/cat yards (our boys were never a threat to momma or babies). I so did not want to see the 6 babes lose their momma. Momma seems really smart, as she stays in only our yard and the one next door that does not have dog or cat. I watched, checked and held the babies daily even while they were still hairless, hoping they would remember my voice and smell and maybe become our friends. That is when the storms started to get really bad, fast heavy down pours with lots of lightening. This might not have been as much of an issue if it were not for our yard becoming a swamp when this happens. After 2 or 3 storms passed for 2 or 3 days the babies still looked like they were doing fine and momma was keeping them fed as they were getting so soft and furry and their ears were finally starting to become pointed and no longer looking like mouse ears. I worried every storm and then it came the really bad wind and heavy rain storm at about 3am I hoped, I prayed they would be okay as the grounds were still saturated from the last storms and I could not imagine how 6 babies could not be drowning in that hole in our swampy back yard. The morning came and the weather started to get better…I went to the nest with a bad feeling inside. At first sight I thought the nest was empty but with a second look I found just one lonely baby who look scared to death. God gave me my second chance, right away I took him in, not knowing if momma left him or what happened to the family. I checked with my wildlife friend who told me the baby was just 10 grams short of being weaned. I said if I can get some food in him he would probably gain the 10 grams he agreed as it would only take about a day for a baby bunny to gain that much anyway on his own and should be fine with real food. We prayed he would be okay and bought a small cage and necessary things to care for our new little one. After setting things up and getting him tucked into his new home, the rest of the day I prayed I would see momma and the rest of the litter. I continued to check the nest just hoping I would see them all back. It never happened. Later in the evening I did see momma she acted as if she was looking for her children, I was not sure if she was looking for the one I claimed or all of them. If they were of weaning weight I was kind of confused as to why she might look for any of them at all. With more storms on the horizon I did not feel too guilty in keeping her babe with me as he was safer inside with me. If momma would have let me I would have taken her in too. The next day, this now being the Saturday before Fathers Day, was a warm sunny day so I decided to weed the much need garden in the yard… Thank you God!!! We found 2 more of momma’s babies. This at least made me feel less guilty about claiming #1 since momma obviously did not find them and take them home I would guess because they were old enough, unless she just could not find them, either way it helped my guilt. Now this should have made me happy to have found them alive but all it did was make we worry where the other 3 were and if they too, were still alive and alone. Even today I still keep an open eye out for them but all I have found is a clump of fur that made me think that at least one probably was found by someone he should have hid from or ran faster from. This led me to believe the others are gone, alive or dead I will never know but all the same gone. This of course does not stop me from looking in the empty nest or watching the garden for movement or watching every step I make in the grass or seeing how momma still stays close by every night. The other side of the story is we now had 3 little bunnies in a very small cage that was meant for one… along with not knowing if any one of them is eating. This brings me to today, Monday, the day I went back to the pet store got the bigger cage (much bigger as it was all they had) and put screen around it as the wires were spaced to wide, allowing the babes a way out. Once the new larger cage was set up I introduced the babes to their new home. They really seemed to like the extra space. At this point I have come to the conclusion that I have two identical bunnies and one smaller, possibly the runt of the litter. I don’t remember at this point, but it makes me wonder if the runt was the one still in the nest. I am guessing not, as he is not as comfortable with me as the other two are and I have held them all just as much unless the runt was missed maybe being at the bottom of the pack in the nest. It was hard to make sure I touched and held them all, have you ever seen how they pack themselves in the nest/hole??? Anyway, I do know that at least one is eating. It could be all of them or it could be just two it is hard to tell at this point. I have seen twice now grass hanging out of a larger bunnies mouth was it the same one, I can not be sure. I can not tell you if the runt is eating at all. I can only pray he is. I hold all three for at least an hour every day and know they are getting bigger. I thought of names but I am not sure if they are boys or girls yet. My choices are Jack, Peter, Ruby, Louise, Max and maybe The Bunny Scout Leader. Why these names you ask? I am sure you can figure out the Jack and Peter… but the rest come from Max and Ruby a children’s TV show and children’s books. Mikayla likes the show and the books a lot as they teach things like sharing, listening and more and Max always gets in trouble while Louise his sister teaches him. I guess we will wait and see how it goes and if and when we find out their sex we will name them accordingly. Keep checking in and see how they grow. Comment and share some names if you want to share some you think might be cute, I am open to any suggestions. Happy Hopping!

Fathers Day was a hot and fun day. I left the day in Daddy’s hands and he kept us going and having fun. We started out with a morning of Happy Dad’s Day greetings and the new Hallmark card that comes alive on line. Daddy’s first animated card and he had fun playing with it as Ms Mikayla watched right beside him. From there we headed out to Faust Park. Once there we started with the Butterfly House. In the Butterfly House we started with a short movie that told us all about the life cycle of the butterfly that even Mikayla loved watching. We moved on to the craft room where mommy got a free Sunflower Plant as the theme was pollinators and the Sunflower is a big one. Daddy got to help Mikayla make a necklace that had flowers and pollinators on it like bats, humming birds and more. Next Mikayla got to make a flower with pollen on it (pomp poms). We moved on from there to do a scavenger hunt out doors where we had to find things like live butterflies, humming birds, bees and more. Finally we finished off in the Butterfly House and watched the butterflies fly all around. One even landed on Mikayla’s back until she swooshed it away. Our next adventure was the Big Carousel, cheaper than the mall and a longer ride, imagine that. Being it was Daddy’s Day he got to ride for free and Mikayla had to have me ride with her being so young which meant I should not have had to pay either but they charged me (silly me just thought of this as I typed this) but that is ok as it was still cheaper than the mall. All 3 of us rode twice and we were off to the Old Historic Village right next door. We talked to a school teacher in the old school room, a blacksmith at work making a meat fork and more. Faust Park was not the end of the adventure either… we stopped for a quick bite to eat at Subway near by (Dad’s choice) and head on to the next adventure.

Laumeier Sculpture Park is where we landed… something new and quite interesting. I was also surprised with no nap or stroller in sight Mikayla also seemed to enjoy this venture with not much really for her to do but look and walk and ask questions and just plain enjoy her daddy and the great outdoors. While here Mikayla was dying to take some pictures as mommy was doing so. I was sorry I forgot to bring her camera but allowed her to take a few with my camera to appease her. To our amazement she did all too well. Of course we look horrible, at least I do, yet she still took some great photos.

After the long day in the heat we headed home to let the boys out for a quick second and we headed out to dinner to Fresh Italy of course another Dad choice. Needless to say, with almost the entire day out in the heat and walking around I think all 3 of us slept quite well. Dad had to go back to getting up early for work and Mikayla and I to get up early for Gymnastics with the theme of the week being pirate week. Mikayla was so excited she could not wait to wear all her pirate garb. She loved the tattoos mommy put on her leg and arms she showed them to all stating even after gymnastics that she was a pirate today. When we arrived at the gym she could not wait to take off some of the stuff but I told her she had to keep it on to let the other pirates know she was one too. That worked until they went into the gym to play, pretending to be on a ship and walking the plank, searching for treasure and more. I just know she will love next week just as much, as it is Princess, Fairy and Knight week. I said I would make her a frog… she told me that would be silly. I am guessing she will be a fairy but not quite sure yet. I will see what I have and can find cheaply at the store. Tuesday will be day 3 of the new swim school. Day 1 was just a class to see what level the kids should be at and Day 2 was her first day with a coach and actually learning. She enjoyed it but most all the activities where totally different from what she was used to, kind of like teaching an old dog new tricks. I did see her starting to catch on by the end, so I am sure with time and practice she will do just fine. This time the class is longer also so that was also a factor for her to deal with and she did fine. Soon Grandma will be coming for a visit and I know that will be fun for all, including all of you, as I share the fun we will have had. We are counting down the days for her arrival and until then keep visiting for more. Happy Belated Fathers Day to all the Dad’s out there. AJ

Moving Right Along

The weather has been so hot around here. They have promised some rain now for 2 days and we got nothing... at least nothing that did not dry up as soon as it landed on the hot pavement. Mikayla and I have been having fun in the pool and sandbox and going for walks and staying inside being cool and reading books from the library. She is enjoying every minute and can not get enough of any of it. We have also been hanging with a new friend of hers who is 11 (Christina) and a perfect big sis for her. They so act like sisters it is so cute. Thursday we (myself, Mikayla and Christina) headed out to Purina Farms for a hot venture. We got to play with bunnies, cows, sheep, pigs and Chickens and more. Mikayla tried to catch a chicken and tried to pull its tail off... she is so mean, but she just wanted to pet him and he would not sit still. Then we watched the Dog Show, the two girls were mesmerized as the dogs caught Frisbees, ran the obstacle course and dived in the pool racing each other. It was a fun but very hot day. Mikayla did start her new Funny Bug Gymnastic class without mommy and did very well. Starting Monday we will be even more busy with Mikayla going to the gym then swimming twice a week and mommy goes to the gym two to three times a week, oh what fun we will have. I am sorry I do not have any photos or videos to share right now its just been a bit crazy and I forgot to even take the camera to the Farm... silly me. Well at least you have an update so hopefully that will appease you for a little while longer. Blessings, AJ
