If He Can Walk On Water????

Well, here we are another week gone by. Nothing too much here except that we all went to the Carson and Barnes Circus on Saturday night. It was fun and kept Mikayla's attention almost the entire time. Every now and then she would venture looking around at all the people moving here and there and the vendors selling all the over priced merchandise but for the most part she watched the entire show which was almost 2 1/2 hours. She is awesome. She even got a coloring book from one of the clowns and the two clowns from the show autographed it for her. I am sorry to say Mommy was bad and did not take the camera. I figured I would not be allowed to. They said just no movie but still pics were OK. Well heck, if you can bring in still camera most now a days they all have movie and who would know?? No matter I did not bring it at all. Now from the beginning people have been telling Mikayla she is so beautiful and cute and I think it finally got to her. For the last few days she has decided she has forgotten how to walk. In doing so she has been trying to change the cute/beautiful face God has given her. Every day I take the boys out back for there daily duty :) and I usually close the screen door so I guess it is my fault on day 1 but the rest was not me. Three days ago I was doing my normal routine of taking the boys out before running out to do an errand. One of the boys was done and locked in save keeping for Mikayla and I to go out. When I took the second one out I purposely left the screen door open knowing Mikayla would want to follow and also knowing I would have to lock the glass doors when done. Well, Mikayla did follow part the way at least to the doors and decided she was not coming out but was going to just lean on the screen door... oops it was not there and on her nose she went. She is a trooper did not cry much, when mommy came and scooped her up she was fine but had her battle scars, there was hardly any blood and no bumps. Day 2 we were being nice neighbors and collecting mail from next door as they were out of town. While holding my hand and walking down my hilly concrete drive Mikayla started picking up speed and was laughing... until she pulled her hand from me getting too confident and landed flat on her forehead. Now that one she cried more as we got the mail and returned and mommy found the bump to already be black and blue and swollen out further then any ones nose that had I ever seen. Mikayla was no longer crying as mommy rushed around to find ice and towel. Once ice was on her head she wailed continuously loud enough to wake China (OK so now I am pushing it and trying to be funny). She survived the 2 falls and was healing so quickly and nicely G and I were just commenting on it. As you can see from the pics even when they are all still pretty fresh she was able to keep on smiling. G went to work day 3 and Mikayla and I set out to the yard. I worked on the garden and she played with whatever leaves she could find up on the patio. Now both of her brothers were also joining us outside playing together themselves and helping keep an eye on their sister as they are very protective of her. All of a sudden, the boys went crazy as I turned, I see Mikayla's bumper car friend K coming toward her and Louie closing the gap between K and Mikayla. I told K to stop as Louie knows to protect Mikayla but has not realized he also has to be aware of where she is and whether she (Mikayla) sees him. Needless to say, K did not listen and tried to go pick up Mikayla thinking she was protecting her from Louie, while Louie bounced Mikayla's face to the ground thinking he was doing a great job keeping K away from her. So now the almost healed booboo's were reopened and a few extras added. This war battle with the ground was the worst for her/me. K left as we ran inside to clean up the blood and try to calm her which was not working after 2 previous days of pain. I finally got the bleeding to stop and she finally calmed and we went back out to hopefully continue our relaxing day without any intruders. I did not take a pic of day 3 the pics are with just day 1 and 2. As today approached, I told her no booboo's today and if she did not learn how to walk soon we would have to send her to walking school. I bet she thinks walking on water would be better and easier than concrete. She did make it through the day with no more booboo's. Lets hope we can be on a roll of no booboo days for a while. I know she will like that. Coming soon, we will be going to a Family Play Date in St Charles and some other fun things along with Halloween on the way and the Fairs happening here in town and the not so fun first doctor visit on the 8th so keep checking back soon.

Mikayla's Potty Talk!!

Mommy forgot to tell you, I finally got my new Eco-friendly sooo soft cloth diapers. They are so pretty and sooo soft. They are so pretty that I just want to wear nothing else but them just to show them off. Oh, did I tell you they are also soooo soft?? I have solid colors and prints that are so cool. The solid colors have a snap closure and the prints are really strong Velcro that only mommy and daddy seem to be able to open and close. I love my new diapers and I am so glad mommy got them for me cause, hey, did you know they are sooo soft.

You know these diapers seemed to take forever to get here but they came at just the right time. For the past few weeks now, I have been using my Dora Explorer potty seat and going #1 like a big girl. I use my potty seat to do #1 just before bath, after bath, as soon as I get up and just before I go to sleep at night or for a nap. Sometimes, I even go get my Dora Explorer potty and bring it to mommy so she knows what I want and then she carries me quickly back to the potty room to do my thing. Grant you, I still wet my diaper as I am not quite a real big girl yet I am still just pretending to be one. Now, I am only doing some #1 like a big girl and still saving all #2's for the pretty diapers cause I know mommy loves when I do it that way. Maybe one day I will surprise her and do #2 like a big girl too. Well, I got to run it is about time get some food, my other favorite past time.

NOTE FROM MOMMY: Not only are disposable diapers stuck littering the environment for an eternity but they are also made with some really nasty chemicals designed to keep wetness away from your baby. Now you might think cool no wetness but in my humble opinion that only hinders potty training as your child never feels wet so they do not care how long they wear a wet diaper. With cloth Eco-friendly, money saving cloth (which are really not bad like some would think to change and clean) you not only save the environment but you also help in potty training as your child feels wet and learns it does not feel so good being wet they also learn there is a better way, hence going potty like a big kid and no nasty chemicals. If you would like more info on cloth diapers and my experience as a new mommy using them I would love to tell you more. Got to run I have a child to feed. ;)

Better Late Then Never!

OK, I got the posting done but I do warn you I posted several separate posts, like 3 or 4 you start here and scroll down. I was trying to keep them in the correct order so you can read this explanation first. I hope I did OK. If any of you knows anything about blogging it can be a bit frustrating getting the things in the order you want and looking the way you want. So if you ever wonder why I did something in a weird way that would be why...it was the only way blogger allowed or the only way I knew how. Enjoy and catch you all again soon.

More Gymnastics

As I said we were going to The Little Gym and it was definitely different then Olympiad. I have talked to several people now and it seems I am getting mixed reviews on both places. I have an appointment for another place called Gateway Kids World which is just as close as Olympiad and the cost is more than Olympiad which was the more expensive one but classes are longer then both places. From what I got the routine at Gateway is about the same as Olympiad's. Needless to say I have decided not to go to check this one out. If we go anywhere I am thinking about the Little Gym but still not sure because of the mixed reviews. If anyone wants to comment from the pics or from what they know of either of the places I would love to hear what you have to say so maybe I can make a better informed opinion. Until then enjoy Mikayla's day of fun at the Gym... of course I started with the good ones.

This is a pic of the boyfriend she made there... Sorry Landon!

This one I could not help but take due to the bubble that seems permanently implanted on her head and that face...

There was this song about monkey's jumping on the bed and falling off and hitting there heads and everytime the monkey hit its head Mikayla kept signing pain...this is the priceless pic of the day!

The rest was just fun and games... :)

Got Milk????

This was not planned we were eatting some lunch and when I looked I could not help but laugh and grab the camera.... it was actually yogurt...

What Kind Of Parents Am I With Anyway??

Cruel and unusual punishment..... then we danced (2 videos attached) :)

Gymnastics

For those of you who listened to me and thought it was the Dance place by Nagles I was wrong. Yes, it is by Nagles but it is a different place. I thought Olympiad and the Dance place were one and the same and they are not. Olympiad is the gymnastics place and seems pretty nice the teacher/trainer we had was really nice and we had quite a long talk after the 25 min class but not about class about kids (hers and ours). Now I think Mikayla enjoyed herself and might like it especially when she gets in with the bigger kids in the bigger gym. I think she was the youngest in this class although I know no one was over 3 as the trainer said there was a 3 yr old doing great in the big gym. At the end when we had to sit and play a game together she got a bit grumpy only cause she does not like to be still, but all in all I think she had fun...check it out...

Now, I do not know what anyone thinks is expensive or not as every ones definition of expensive is different what I will say is that I was told that the Little Gym on Olive is expensive and that Olympiad is not so much. Well, from the information I got it is the other way around by about 100 bucks a year. Now grant you, Olympiad says you pay the membership fee (yearly) and then you also pay a monthly fee in that way. The Little Gym made is sound like you pay all up front. Either way if you calculate for the year for both if I got my costs from the phone calls correct The Little Gym on Olive maybe a bit further to go to but I do not think it would cost me $100 in gas to make the cost the same as Olympiad which is like right down the block. Now I am not saying that I will not go to Olympiad, for one, I do not know what the Little Gym is like but will check it out. So far the people seem nice at Olympiad and the place is definitely closer. Soon in the future I will have an answer for you as to which we will be going if either. Until then enjoy the pics from when she did go. Catch you all later I got to go place my TJ's order... you know I hardly ever order and how little of an order I like to place.....

It Is Done! I Did It!!!!

Yes, I tortured my baby girl. Dad and I had a talk, Dad said no way, mom said way. Guess who won???? Of course I did! Dad knew it would happen he just did not know when. Being Mikayla's 17 month birthday I decided it was the day. Afterward, we visited Dad and he kissed her all over and never noticed.... until his boss mentioned it. Needless to say she is on my poo poo list for awhile. I really wanted to see how long it would take him to notice. What did I do you ask? Will I ever tell you? Okay, Okay... I got Mikayla's ears pierced. She is now sporting some diamond studs, something I do not even have. She looks so cute, not that she didn't before but now she's even cuter. When they pierced the first ear there was a delayed reaction of a two second cry and she was done, I think it was more the being kept still and the noise more than pain. She did not cry any more and she did not even cry when the second one was done and she received her sucker. I came home and tried to get some pics for you and I am finding more and more she is a ham for the camera so I could not help myself but to post all the good ones that came about... enjoy! This evening we are going to gymnastics, hopefully I will be able to get some pics there but not sure how that will go being her first free trial class. We shall see and maybe tomorrow you will have more cute stuff to ahhh over. Catch you all next time.

Just A Snip It

First, I want to let you all know that I am calling the gymnastics place today to set up a free trial class to see if we would like it. If any of you with kids are interested in going and joining us in gymnastics let me know as we can all try to get in the same class if your child is in the same age group. If anyone knows where we can take swim lessons at this young age (17 months, fully mobile on own) please let me know. Last but not least, Mikayla will be 17 months tomorrow, she is currently wearing 6-9 month clothes (pants fall off with 9 month). She has plenty of summer clothes of various sizes but winter is coming and she is short on winter clothes of any size. She does have a winter coat and a sweat to last a while. She loves books and has a few Dr Seuss and others, she also has lots of toys more than enough to over whelm her right now. She loves music and listens to christian music and childrens songs. She has several lullaby CD's and one sing along car CD plus she loves listening to all my christian music, worship or other. If anyone is looking for gifts I am not sure what to tell you at this time other then the winter clothes unless someone who has BTDT (been there done that) knows more of what we might need than I do. What about maybe a DVD with exercise for her to have fun with, is there anything like that or maybe some other interactive DVD to keep her on the go and interested other than her Signing DVD's that she loves to watch and learn from. Recently I did not have any bath toys and never thought about it but thanks to some friends they got her some just recently. So please let me know if there is something she could use I am not thinking of, remember this is my first. :) Love you guys and catch you again soon.

Its A Holiday!!!

I bet because it is a Holiday you thought I would forget it was Monday, nope I remembered. Did you remember to check here today? Well, the week was not very exciting for any of us. Mikayla had a few melt downs but nothing major or unexpected. We did get to go to the Park today for the first time. She had a blast on the seesaw and the slide I have a really short and cute video of it which I will post if I can figure out how to. Ok, I think I got the video on hopefully it works for you. It is at the bottom of the post. We got to watch and chase some ducks. We also saw some really cool remote control boats. Hopefully we will have more fun in the coming week. It is hard to do things when Daddy wants to be there and is always working but he tries and does a great job in keeping Mikayla happy when he is here and making sure we have all we need at home. I will catch you next Monday if not before. Happy Holiday.
