I can not believe how long it has been since my last official post with pics. I must apologize for leaving you all hanging. I know a lot of you are probably tired of checking back here to find nothing. I am here and hoping to do some ketchup... oops I mean catch up. :)
Now I have to think back and catch you all up. Mikayla still seems to be doing just fine and we are hoping her system fixes itself totally soon. We are all doing fairly well and trying to keep up with the home life and doing some fun stuff too. As you know we did go to visit our friends in Iowa and we did have a great time and can not wait to see them again at the Annual CHI Picnic and the Party and Zoo trip that will follow directly. While in Iowa we did visit the Omaha Zoo and the Children's Museum. Mikayla loved the Zoo and her chariot ride even though she had some scares and was a bit over whelmed at the Museum I think she enjoyed that as well. After coming home and getting back to the normal routine. We ventured to put up her 15' pool and opted to buy a 9' instead for various reasons. The first week when asked if she was ready to go swimming the answer was no (mind you she is 2 and right now every answer is NO even if she means yes). She would shy away from the pool until I got her in it and then she never wanted to get out (surprise-not). Now if you ask her she will say yes or she will tell you she wants to go in without you even asking. We also found out Jake likes to swim. He likes to jump in when we are not looking when he is out in the yard with Louie. Louie although he loves to play in the hose refuses to have any part of the pool. Our yard is growing Mikayla toys lately from Aunt Ellen and Mikayla has not complained a bit. The play room is also sprouting toys but with so much coming at one time she does not know about it all. I have been slowly introducing new things as I see she is losing interested in the older/new ones. She loves them all and plays with them all every day. She gives them all some of her time each and every day even if only to mix the barn animals with Noah's Ark, the blocks with the Lincoln logs, etc and moving on.
Just recently she was invited to a friends house (older girls) to celebrate a Graduation (actually mom and dad were invited but the graduates younger sister in 6th grade likes to play with Mikayla). While there she had a blast in their 16' pool and on their massive trampoline. Even when the rain storm rolled in she did not seem to care she stayed with the big girls and played hard.
Our other private issues are still going on and we can still use prayers but all seems to be panning out some what smoothly with just a few bumps.
Other than all the major activities we also stayed close to home and Mikayla had her first visit to the Library, she was in heaven. She loves grabbing books from every where. We read lots there and we brought a bunch home that she reads daily here too. We also took a trip to our local Mall and her and Daddy went on the Merry Go Round which she seems to like a lot better now. She also went on the train for the second time and that was a big deal for her as she learned to hate trains just recently at the Omaha Zoo. Hopefully the mall train has made her like them once again. She also got her usual Balloon from Carolyn (always gets a purple one not sure if that is Carolyn or Mikayla's choice).
Oh and for Dad's day we stayed at home, cooked out on the Grill (Dad's gift from mom) hoping for humming birds on the new feeder (also from mommy), swimming in the pool and the best gift of all that I know Daddy loves is his picture book from Mikayla (made by mommy). If you see Daddy you will have to ask him if you can see it as I think he must carry it always as I do not know where it is hidden. It has pics from day 1 of meeting his precious daughter up to today. It also has sweet words from Mikayla on every page (with mommy's help). I can not believe she has been home for a year already. We have one last visit coming from the agency and we are done with them (we will definitely miss Nicole). We also have a PAT visit coming up in August I believe. Before that though we do have the Reunion, Party and the Zoo which I hope to keep you posted with a bit soon then I have this last time.
This weekend we have a dear friend coming home with her 18 month bundle of joy. We can not wait to meet her. We hope to be there at the airport for them as they were for us. It was a long wait for them as it was for us. We do still have two other friends still waiting. If you recall China went by dates and we were March 10, 2006 well the ones coming home were June 2006 and we still have friends waiting with dates of Dec 2006 and March 2007 I feel for them and pray for them daily as I hope you will do also. The wait has been long and is going to be longer for them then it was for us. It is very hard, you can not image. Just think of the craziness most of you dealt with for 9 months well we went through the same if not worse for over 3 years not just 9 small months and my friends will be going through it even longer. God Bless them for having strength and patience.
I think that probably gets you caught up. I would have posted a lot more pics and video but as you know I still do not know where the video camera put the videos but I did have the pics. Not only that but there were so many I am not even sure Blog spot would allow them all at one time. So enjoy the ones I did post and I will post more soon with the next festivities. I am not sure the video is working if not I am sorry and will try to fix later. Let me know if you guys get it to work. Thanks
Loving the ride but cant keep track of mommy
